White Gold is where a lasting partnership began. This custom home in Whistler was the first collaboration between Balmoral Construction and a client with a clear vision for what mountain living should feel like — grounded, warm, and built to endure everything the Coast Mountains can deliver.

The design responds directly to the realities of alpine construction. Heavy snow loads, steep site grades, and Whistler's demanding building envelope requirements shaped every structural decision from the foundation up. Rather than fighting the terrain, the home works with it — stepping down the slope in a way that feels natural while maximizing views and outdoor living space on multiple levels.

Material selections were driven by performance as much as aesthetics. Exterior cladding was chosen to weather gracefully in Whistler's wet winters, while interior finishes bring warmth and texture to spaces that could easily feel cold at elevation. The result is a home that feels like it belongs — neither trying too hard nor holding back.

White Gold proved something important: that a boutique builder with a hands-on approach could deliver a home of this complexity without the bloat of a large general contractor. The project ran on clear communication, tight trade coordination, and a builder who was on site every day. That same client came back for White Gold 2 — which says everything about how this one went.
